Justin Maller

This work, entiteld "Big City" has a barrier being broken down between the natural world and what appears to be the manufactured, fake world that most of us spend our lives. In this piece the tiger is entering a place that we can understand completely but is alien to something natural. I feel that what this is really saying is that even though what is artificial can take over nature, it will eventually come back. It looks like that hole could be relativly new, and already there is green everywhere.
This was originally designed for a shirt, as is most of the things created by Justin Maller. I think that the main point of this is simply of aesthetics. The lion is definatly the subject of this, and with the bent light around its front and flames behind, it seems to be entering the atmosphere. I'm not sure. It does look neat, but I don't think there is anything behind that.
